Young Fifth Active WD&D Principal in Leadership Greater Little Rock

Chad Young, AIA, LEED AP, principal and chief design architect of WD&D Architects, has been selected to participate in Leadership Greater Little Rock's Year XXV class.  "It is very exciting to be a part of the 25th leadership class.  A lot of great leaders in central Arkansas have gone through the program," said Young. "I hope to be able to learn more about our community and to develop great future relationships for a lifetime." The Leadership Greater Little Rock program, headed by the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, is designed to progress Little Rock's leaders by boosting their awareness of and positive effect on the community. Young, along with 50 other XXV class members, was selected from hundreds of applicants to participate in the program, which lasts about 10 months. The participants will meet several times throughout the program in various central Arkansas locations to learn more about the community through guest speakers, presentations and tours. The Leadership Greater Little Rock program began in 1985, and has since had more than 1,100 Greater Little Rock leaders graduate. Young will be the fifth active WD&D principal to complete the program, following in the footsteps of Richard Alderman, Roy St. Clair, Bradley Chilcote and, most recently, Wallie Sprick, who graduated in 2009 with the Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XXIIII."Participating in the LGLR Class was a fantastic experience.  I was able to form new relationships with outstanding professionals," said Sprick. "The program will give Chad a broader understanding of the community where we live and show him more of the many opportunities Central Arkansas has to offer.  I learned the importance of getting involved in my community and supporting efforts to make it a better place to live."Young joined WD&D in 1995 as an intern architect, just two weeks after graduating from the University of Arkansas' School of Architecture.  He was promoted to Associate in 2000, Senior Associate in 2001 and to partner in 2002.
